Best Apple Deals: April Apple sales, offers and discounts

Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Christmas might be behind us, but that doesn’t mean you can’t find great deals on Apple products. If you are hoping to save money on a new iPhone, Mac, iPad, Apple Watch or any other Apple product look no further! We have sought out the best Apple deals in both the UK and US.

Does Apple ever have sales?

While Apple never really holds a ‘Sale’ in it’s Apple Stores (online or elsewhere), it does offer discounts year round to students (see How to save money in Apple’s Education Store) and various groups (such as NHS workers in the UK).

At certain times of the year Apple offers incentives to people purchasing new products. For example, in the months before students start university the company holds a “Back To Uni” event (it used to be known as Back To School, but since it wasn’t for school age children Apple changed the name!). During this promotion Apple gives qualifying students buying a new iPad or Mac in the discounted education store a pair of AirPods. Read all about Apple’s Back to Uni Sale 2022 in our explainer.

As for Black Friday in November, Apple doesn’t discount its products, but it does offer vouchers with them – up to £160/$200 in value. So you can buy a new Mac and get vouchers to spend on the next product you buy from Apple. Read all about Apple’s Black Friday offer here. The sale started 26 November 2021 and ended 29 November 2021, we expect it to return in 2022.

Another way you can save money buying from Apple is to shop in Apple’s Refurbished Store. Apple offers discounts on old products that are no longer on sale here, as well as discounts on current models that have been returned. Where are the best Apple deals and sales?

If you are reading the above and thinking that means you can’t save money on buying an Apple product you are wrong!

Apple resellers offer discounts on new and the last generation iPhones, Macs, iPads and more all year round.

Apple introduces new products at various times in the year (see When is the next Apple Event?), and when it does you can expect prices on older models to drop dramatically because retailers want to get rid of the old stock.

For example, in the UK, KRCS regularly discounts the full range of Apple products, including AppleCare coverage and Beats headphones. The retailer is usually one of the first to discount Apple’s newest products.

Of course, Amazon is the ultimate juggernaut to watch. We would recommend signing up for the 30-day free trial of Amazon Prime so you can take advantage of the Lightning Deals. Lightning Deals slash prices off limited stock items, which is why the deals only last a few hours. The benefit of a Prime membership is that you would be able to access the Lightning Deals 30 minutes in advance of non-members.

iPad Air 2022

• Amazon has the iPad mini (64GB, in Starlight) for £459. That’s £20 off the RRP.
• Amazon has the 256GB WiFi model for £574.97 (RRP £619).
• The best deal is from Amazon who have the 64GB Cellular (RRP £619) for just £464! £155 off!
• Amazon has the £759 256GB Cellular version for £736.23.

iPad 10.2in

• Get the 256GB WiFi iPad for is £424.99 from Amazon, RRP £459. That’s £34 off.
• Amazon also has the 64GB Cellular 2021 iPad for £434.97, £4 off (but we’ve recently seen £54 off).
• eBuyer has the £579 iPad for £564.99. £14 off.

AirPods

• You can (and should) make a small saving: John Lewis, AO, Currys and Amazon all have the 3rd-gen AirPods for £159, or £10 off the RRP
• Laptops Direct is leading the way with a price of £179 for the AirPods Pro (a superb £60 off the RRP).

MacBook Air

• John Lewis and Very have the entry-level MacBook Air (M1) for £887, which is £112 off the RRP.
• Amazon has the MacBook Air (M1) with 8-core GPU and 512GB SSD for £1,089.97. Currys and John Lewis all have the MacBook Air (M1) with 8-core GPU and 512GB SSD for £1,099.97 (RRP: £1,249).

MacBook Pro

• Laptops Direct has a discount for the entry-level 14in MacBook Pro. Get it for £1,749.97 (RRP: £1,899). Laptops Direct also has a discount for the £2,399 model – get it for £2,087.97 here.
• Amazon has the £2,399 16in MacBook Pro for £2,129.97. Laptops Direct – also has the same discount on the 16in MacBook Pro, get it for £2,129.97 (RRP: £2,399).
• The 16in MacBook Pro with a £2,599 RRP costs £2,279.97 at Laptops Direct.
• Amazon, AO.com, and John Lewis all have the same deal on the entry-level 13in MacBook Pro, get it for £1,149 (RRP; £1,299).
• You can find a discount on the 512GB M1 13in MacBook Pro, normally £1,499, now £1,319 at Amazon and John Lewis, while Laptops Direct has it for 97p more.

iMac

• Amazon – 7-core GPU is in stock in blue and discounted to $1,199 (RRP: $1,299). Amazon also has the green $1,499 model for $1,250.55. You can get the $1,699 in blue for $1,648.92. The green model is $1,649.
• Laptops Direct also has money off off the £1,249 M1 iMac with 256GB storage in silver: get it for £1,129.97.
• Currys also has the £1,649 model in silver for £1,363.

Mac mini

• Amazon has money off the £699 M1 Mac mini. You can get £70 off and pay £622.97. Laptops Direct has it for the same price.
• The £899 M1 Mac mini model is £838 at Amazon and AO.com.
• You can also get the 3.0GHz Mac mini that Apple still sells for £1,099 for £899 at Amazon, Currys and AO.

US resellers

iPad Air 2022

• Amazon has $70 off the new 2022 iPad Air 256GB WiFi in Space Gray – get it for $679 (RRP was $749). Walmart has the same deal.

iPad Pro 2021

• Walmart has $200 off the 1TB WiFi RRP $1,499. Get it for $1,299! A great deal! Walmart also has $100 off the 512GB WiFi 11in iPad Pro. Get it for $999.99.

Apple Watch Series 7

MacBook Air

• You can get the M1 MacBook Air 8-core CPU /7-core GPU, normally $999 for $949.99 at Walmart. That’s the silver model.
• Amazon has the 512GB  MacBook Air 8-core CPU /8-core GPU for $1,097.50 in silver (RRP should be $1,249 for the 512GB model). It’s selling out fast thou!

MacBook Pro

• Walmart has a great discount off the 1TB, 16-core GPU 14in MacBook Pro, get it for $2,159.97 (RRP: $2,499). Walmart also has the 512GB 14in model discounted to $1,949 ($50 off).
• Walmart and Amazon both have $50 off the $2,499 16in model.
• Walmart has the 13in MacBook Pro for $1,189 (RRP $1,299).
• Walmart also has $100 off the $1,499 silver 13in MacBook Pro, get it for $1,399. The space grey model is $1,469.

iMac

• Amazon – 7-core GPU is in stock in blue and discounted to $1,199 (RRP: $1,299). Amazon also has the green $1,499 model for $1,250.55. You can get the $1,699 in blue for $1,648.92. The green model is $1,649.

Mac mini

• Walmart has $30 off the $699 M1 Mac mini – get it for $669. Amazon has the same Mac mini for $669.99 (so 99c more).
• Walmart also has the $899 Mac mini for $869, while Best Buy has it for slightly more at $899.99.

Where can I buy Apple products?

Sometimes it can actually be hard to find the Apple product you to buy, let alone get a discount. In 2020 and beyond component shortages, shipping delays, and COVID-related issues have meant that Apple products can sell out very quickly due to stock being so constrained. Where to get education discounts

As we said above, students as well as education institutions can get a discount on certain Apple products in Apple’s education store all year round. In addition, Apple’s Back to School Sale runs at certain times of the year – usually in the months before university starts (so summertime). As we mentioned above, in 2021 students were able to claim a free pair of Apple AirPods with a MacBook or iPad.

Where to get refurbished deals

If you’re looking for a top refurbished Apple deal, the first place to check is the Apple Refurbished Store. Devices there are guaranteed to look and work just like new. Any parts that are up to scratch are replaced so what you get out is virtually indistinguishable from new. The only major difference is you’ll be paying a lot less. 

The only issue with buying from the Apple Refurbished Store is that you won’t always find stock so you might need to go to other resellers.

• MacBook and iMacs – see pricing differences across MacBook and iMac models based on screen size, processors, storage and more. You can choose up to two devices to compare side by side.
• iPads – compare capacities and prices across all iPads, including Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi and Cellular models

When to expect the biggest Apple deals – Key dates

Don’t forget, there are several key points in the year when you’re more likely to save on Apple devices – especially given Apple hardly holds sales of its own.

Black Friday/Cyber Monday The grand-daddy of all sales is the Black Friday and Cyber Monday period at the end of November when you can get discounts from every major retailer pretty much around the world. Each year we see money off the Apple Watch, Apple devices, discounts on iPads, MacBooks and more. Apple also has its own Black Friday event when it offers vouchers.

Apple Back to Uni Sale US/UK – Apple’s Back to Uni Sale gives students in or entering higher education a free pair of AirPods with Mac or iPad purchases.

Prime Day 2021 – Amazon’s Prime Day (which was in June during 2021) sees Amazon offer excellent discounts on various Apple products. Just make sure you’re a Prime member so you can access those Apple discounts.
